My Cultural Identity
In this unit I learned the cultural identity
means a person's background, culture, religion and what language people speak. Everyone has different culture,
languages and beliefs or no beliefs at all. Language is fundamental to cultural
identity, if loss of language means the loss of culture and identity. I'm Chinese, when I speak Cantonese,
look at my skin color, and culture those are prove my identity. The poster that
we did is about our cultural identity, including the language, foods,
tradition, etc. My poster was about the Chinese famous food, such as “Dim Sum,
and Moon Cake.” Both are traditional and famous food at China. Every year the
Chinese people celebrate the Moon Autumn Festival, and eat moon cake. That is
the tradition holiday and foods. Also, the original Dim Sum was
originated in Canton (China). Most Chinese people love eats Dim Sum as breakfast. Dim Sum and Moon Cake is good example that
shows Chinese culture. So, I chose the traditional food in China to show my
cultural identity.
